Deja Vu All Over Again

In preparation for the arriving Missionaries, President Stevenson took the mission car to the car wash so it would be clean. We couldn't even make it to the mission office with the car still spotless. 💦😐 We have 19 Missionaries arriving. 13 Elders, one of them is Spanish speaking, and 6 Sisters. A friend in Florida volunteered to send us their rain. (They're expecting Hurricane Irma) We'll deal with the spots, and pray that Florida isn't hit as badly as Texas was.

Our first Missionary arrived safely from the Mexico City MTC or CCM at around 4:10 p.m.

...and now we wait for the Provo MTC missionaries (their plane arrives about an hour after the first Elder) and watch for the other 18... other de-planing passengers promise us they are back there and that they are an amazing group.

There were hugs and handshakes all around. All 19 are here safely.

Even better... all of their luggage fit on the plane.

The Assistants pulled the Mission Truck and Trailer up to the curb so we could load all of the luggage.

and then we loaded Missionaries into the Mission Van

Others loaded into the Mission Truck...

...and the last few rode with us in the Mission President's car.

When we got back to the Mission Home, Sister Cordova had a delicious dinner all ready for us. Roasted Chicken, Mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, rolls.

And then we moved downstairs for their orientation.

The Elders spent the night at the Mission Home and The Sisters were housed in the home of two of our ward families. The next day, Sister Cordova had a wonderful breakfast waiting for us and President Stevenson began their arrival interviews.

Then it was off to Orientation with Dr. and Sr. Platz for medical, Elder Stoker for  vehicle safety, and our Housing and Referral Missionaries.

In the Front Foyer Elders and Sisters that were being transferred were arriving with their luggage to head off to  their new areas...

...the new Trainers were in a Train the Trainers Meeting with President Stevenson and the Assistants...

Then it was off to the other Foyer for pictures with Elder Beier.

Aren't they a great looking group?

Sr Cordova had a wonderful lunch waiting for us and the New Missionaries got to mingle with their trainers (although they didn't know yet exactly who their trainer would be. That comes later.)

Then off to the Chapel for more instructions and last but not least... They learned who their Trainers will be!

I love how they unknowingly coordinated their out fits. 😊

These two figured it out before the announcement... 😏 Could it be because the were the only 2 Elders with Spanish name tags? They were both very excited about it and sat next to each other in the meeting. Since there was no suspense President Stevenson announced their companionship first.

Apologies....somehow I missed getting pictures of one new sister and her companion and one of our elders... I'll take them when we see them this week...so sorry.

All Nineteen of our new Missionaries

And our lovely new Sisters and their trainers. Four of the six new sister trainers (as well as the spanish training elder) just came off their first 12 weeks training themselves.  They were trained well and are all well prepared now to train.

Having now successfully gotten the new missionaries to their first areas, we await the arrival of the departing missionaries at the mission home.  To be continued....
